Lean Cuisine Breakfast Panini: A Review

I just found a healthy new breakfast favorite and it only takes 2 minutes to make. New Lean Cuisine Breakfast Panini from their new breakfast classics line. I discovered this when I was shopping in the frozen food section. There were 2 different kinds and I picked the Denver-Style panini which is scrambled egg whites, honey ham, peppers, onions and cheddar cheese sauce on parmesan flavored multigrain bread. When I first opened the box and took the sandwich out of the wrapper my first thought was that this was going to be a spicy sandwich, in reality, it wasn’t, it just smelled strong. This sandwich was surprisingly better tasting than I expected it to be but then again, I like pretty much all of the Lean Cuisine line of food. What I really liked about this particular panini is the filling, it’s like having an omelet without the hassle of making one. I also liked the taste of the parmesan flavored multigrain bread, although I do have to admit it came out a big soggy and not very well toasted, to be honest I should of looked at the best panini press cook’s illustrated to see how to grill it properly.

I would definitely buy this again although I was a bit disappointed in the fact that I did taste the bread more than the filling and after a while the filling would fall out and make a mess but that’s what fingers and forks are for. I really like how easy it is to have a healthy breakfast without making such a mess in the kitchen and your panini is done in just 2 minutes. I was also surprised at how good the egg whites tasted, I normally don’t eat egg whites, but with this I’ll make the exception. I couldn’t really taste the ham, peppers or onions but I’m sure they were there among the egg and cheese. Over all I did enjoy this Lean Cuisine Breakfast Panini and can’t wait to try the other flavor.

You can find the Lean Cuisine Breakfast Panini in the frozen food section of your local grocery store, I got mine at my local Wal-Mart. I don’t remember what I paid for it but I’m sure it was reasonable, just like all the other Lean Cuisine foods. It’s definitely worth it and I think this is something even my husband would eat since he enjoys having an omelet every now and then, who doesn’t? Now with new Lean Cuisine Breakfast Panini breakfast just became healthier and a lot tastier.

Soundfreaq Sound Kick Bluetooth speaker Review

The Soundfreaq Sound Kick Bluetooth speaker is a very good choice if you are looking for a budget Bluetooth speaker because with the Sound Kick you get some pretty impressive sound out of this small speaker and a price tag of only $99 that’s the kind of budget Bluetooth speaker you should be after.

Design and Features:

The Sound Kick might not be one of the “prettier” looking Bluetooth speakers out there but it is by no means ugly. The design is a simple rectangle that utilizes both metal and plastic and has interesting lines on the side. The speaker does not feel cheap and the build quality is very good and so the speaker does not squeak or creek when you apply pressure or try and twist it and such. The speaker has good durability, we tossed it around a bit and stuffed it in a backpack and we like the fact that you really don’t have to worry about it or baby it like you would some of the other Bluetooth speakers where their gentle pleasing design can get easily scratches up or the nice aluminum casing dented.

The speaker Dimensions are 1.6 W x 10.5 L x 4.2 H inches and at 1.6 Pounds its got a bit of heft to it which we actually didn’t mind. The speaker has a built in 2200 mAh battery which will give you around 7 hours of play time. All the button controls are on top of the device and are easy to see and press. The Sound Kick has a deep box that pulls out from the back and acts as a kick stand slanting the speaker at an angle for better sound but most importantly the deep box is used for better bass performance as this allows for more room and air to allow the Sound Kick to achieve better low end sound. Also note the the Sound Kick will not allow you to play audio until you have pulled out the deep box.

Some other features the Sound Kick has is a USB port in the back of the device which will allow you to charge devices as long as the speaker is plugged into the wall or if you are listening to music at no more that 70% volume. In the back you also have your power input with indicating LED and there is also a 3.5mm aux port that allows for wired connectivity with the included 3.5mm cable.

Sound Quality:

The main appeal of the Sound Kick really is the sound it can produce for a speaker that is under the $100 mark. The treble, mid range, and bass performance is exceptional and the highs are crisp and clear. The sound Kick has two 2.3 inch drivers that allow the Sound Kick to reach some pretty loud volume levels and even at 100% percent volume we did not get any distortion. The bass performs well thanks to the deep box that pulls out but obviously you wont get very deep bass from a speaker in this size category.

The Sound Kick does not have any Speaker Phone features but at this price it should not be expected.

We really liked what the SoundFreaq Sound Kick has to offer and we agreed that it would not be an easy task to find a speaker with such great audio performance at this price.

Hot Tools Helix Lightweight Hair Dryer, 1875 Watts, Model 2200

I don’t usually go nuts over something like a hair dryer. I mean, what can you possibly say about a hair dryer? At least that’s what I thought before I purchased the Hot Tools Helix Lightweight Dryer, 1875 Watts, Model 2200. I must admit that I was a bit desperate when I bought it. I am notoriously cheap when it comes to household appliances. I don’t replace them until they fall apart in my hands or explode. My old hair dryer, which I’d had for about six years or so, was right on the verge of dying. As it was, it only worked when the dryer was held at an angle, which was really fun when I was getting ready for work. So I was definitely overdue for buying a hair dryer, and I was used to struggling mightily to get my hair dry in the morning.

Helix Lightweight Hair DryerLet’s cut to the chase here. What’s good about this hair dryer? Well, for starters, it makes my hair look great, and we’re talking “salon great” here, not “oh, look, Anne blew-dry her hair again” great. It has controls that far exceed those I am used to seeing on a hair dryer. When you’re choosing the heat setting, you have “low,” “medium,” “high” and a separate “cool” button; when you’re choosing the speed of the airflow, your choices are “low” and “high.” And all of these controls work super-well. I have no problem envisioning this hair dryer in a salon. It would be a natural tool to have because it works so beautifully.

And its design is brilliant. As its name suggests, it weighs very little, and that’s really helpful when you’re holding the hair dryer above or around your head. It is sleek and streamlined, and the chrome finish feels smooth to the touch. As I was drying my hair one evening the back of the dryer (the circular part near the cord) popped off. I picked the piece off the ground with dismay, only to discover that there was a carefully-designed groove in either side to easily facilitate popping the piece on and off the dryer. It’s there to assist in cleaning any hair or other debris out of the dryer. How brilliant is that? The dryer also comes with a small plastic styling device (which I have not tried yet, but it looks pretty cool) and a fancy cushion-y storage case, which should keep my hair dryer in good shape for some time to come.

Let’s talk price here. I should mention that this hair dryer usually retails for about $79.95. (I snagged this price from Amazon.) However, I bought mine from Costco for $28.99 about a week ago. Knowing Costco, they probably still have huge stashes of them, so I would definitely give them a try first. This hair dryer is a great deal at $79.95, but at $28.99 it’s a steal!

Hey, your day is tough enough without fighting with your hair dryer every morning. If you can swing it, buy the Hot Tools Helix Lightweight Dryer, 1875 Watts, Model 2200, and I can promise you that your hair will be dry a whole lot quicker and you’ll look like you just stepped out of a salon. And your coworkers will be very, very jealous.
