A theatre is an art form that has been in existence for more than two thousand years. It has evolved and developed so much over this time span that it has become an essential part of our culture today. The story being told, the emotion being expressed and the style of presentation are just some examples that have set theater apart from all other art forms. We owe theatre a great deal.
It’s a question that has been asked for a long time: “Why does the world need theater? Do shows really sell tickets? Are crowds really flocking to see performances?” Well, undeniably theaters are very popular and are used by lots of people throughout the world to entertain them and pass the time away from their daily lives. Also, the theater is a relevant form of entertainment that goes a long way in entertaining viewers and also speaks a lot about tackling social situations.
Theatre is not just about entertaining people; it’s about entertaining them in such a way that they learn something or gain new insight into something they already knew but lack thorough understanding. One example is when one character in the play learns how to speak another language, which was not something that she knew before entering the play. Another example would be when characters learn about their own feelings and emotions or learn how to interact with others in a different way than they were used to doing before entering the play.
Theatre can be used as a tool for social change as well. If you are able to get people talking about issues such as racism or sexism through your work, then you are helping them learn about these issues in a way that makes sense to them. You might even find that some people will talk about these issues after seeing your play because they felt connected with it from the beginning.
In addition to learning something new or gaining insight into something you already knew, another reason people enjoy going to see theatre shows is that it allows them to escape reality while they are watching it! They get to forget about everything that is going on around them, including what’s happening at home and at work and just watch someone else who doesn’t have all these problems.
I believe that theater is a way to touch lives. The mere fact that it can influence people in that way is a big deal because of its impact on someone’s life. It allows them to see another perspective on society that they have not seen or heard before. There are many genres in Theater. You can have musical theater, comedy, tragedy, and many more. This shows how versatile the art form is. It affects you on a personal level with its emotional content, but it also allows you as an audience member to be able to think about different points of view in life for the characters, which helps you understand what it is like for someone else how they may be feeling.
